Western Hills has enjoyed the comforts of home their last two games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will take on the Taft Senators at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Western Hills has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 1,042 points over their last 15 games.
Even though Ponitz Career Tech scored an imposing 61 points on Saturday, Western Hills still came out on top. Western Hills walked away with a 73-61 victory over Ponitz Career Tech. Given Western Hills' advantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 33rd, while Ponitz Career Tech is ranked 481st), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Meanwhile, it may have taken double overtime to finish the job, but Taft ultimately got the result they hoped for on Tuesday. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past Cincinnati Hills Christian Academy 87-85. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
Western Hills' victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 13-2. As for Taft, they now have a winning record of 9-8.
Western Hills skirted past Taft 69-66 when the teams last played back in December of 2023. The rematch might be a little tougher for Western Hills since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
