They came out on top against Westover Christian Academy by a score of 56-44. This was payback for Timberlake Christian, who suffered a 54-34 loss the last time these two teams met.
Timberlake Christian can attribute much of their success to Adrian Warrick, who scored 25 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Warrick has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Billy Shumaker, who scored seven points.
Despite the loss, Westover Christian Academy saw an underclassman step up: Caleb Hill scored 22 points along with two steals. That was a full 50% of Westover Christian Academy's points, marking the third time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. Braden Hundley was another key contributor, scoring five points along with three steals.
Timberlake Christian's victory bumped their record up to 4-7. As for Westover Christian Academy, they have not been sharp recently, as they've lost three of their last four games, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-9 record this season.
Timberlake Christian will be playing at home against Smith Mountain Lake Christian Academy at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Westover Christian Academy, they will head out on the road to challenge Christian Heritage Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Christian Heritage Academy is out to stop a four-game streak of losses at home.
