Ratings Comments
It is fairly clear that Bishop McGuinness is as good as advertised. The Fighting Irish claimed their 23rd straight victory with a 55-0 victory over Guymon. McGuinness posted its third consecutive shutout and sixth of the season in the victory. Wagoner overcame a 21-7 halftime deficit before storming back to beat Grove. The victory allowed Wagoner to return to second this week, while the Ridgerunners fall to fourth. Broken Bow is up to third after a 48-14 whitewash of Stillwell, which slides all the way out after sitting at sixth last week.
Glenpool stayed at fifth despite a 59-7 annihilation of McLoud. Anadarko returns with its only losses coming to Cache, Bishop McGuinness, and sixth-ranked Weatherford. It was down to Sallisaw and Oologah for the final spot this week. Oologah gets the nod despite its 4-5 record. Oologah played a brutal non-District schedule in losing to Claremore and Coweta from Class 5A before losing to defending Class 3A champion Sequoyah-Claremore. Within its District, Oologah has fallen to Wagoner and Grove.
Wagoner Shocks Grove: It took Wagoner every bit of four quarters to hand Grove its first loss of the campaign. Everett Shaver rushed for 122 yards and scored with 1:23 remaining to hand the Bulldogs the 28-21 victory. A pair of rushing touchdowns and a 27-yard touchdown from Grove quarterback Darius Hopper allowed the RidgeRunners to take a 21-7 halftime lead. Durrell Parker, who threw an 18-yard strike to Jermaine Sherman for the only Wagoner touchdown in the first half, responded with a 2-yard run.
Gus Jones closed to the gap to 21-20 in the fourth quarter with a 1-yard plunge, setting up Shaver's game-winning score.
McGuinness Posts Sixth Shutout of '07: It is beginning to sound like a broken record. Bishop McGuinness posted yet another shutout, number six of the season, in a 55-0 demolition of Guymon. Four different McGuinness players rushed for first half touchdowns, with Kris Parham leading the way with two as the Fighting Irish rolled to 280 rushing yards. Junior quarterback Ryan Randolph threw for a score and added another on the ground for McGuinness, who claimed its 23rd straight victory.
Shomo, Broken Bow Ravage Stillwell: It was meant to be a knockdown, drag-out battle to help decide the champion in District 5A-4. Instead, quarterback Jody Shomo stole the show to allow the Savages to pummel Stillwell, 48-14. Shomo threw for four touchdown passes to lead the rout, two of them going to tight end Kyle Beam. Stillwell, who committed five turnovers in the loss, got two rushing touchdowns by Watie Vann.
Sawatzky Torches Elk City: For sixth-ranked Weatherford, Kyle Sawatzky has been the catalyst behind its climb up in the Class 4A charts. A 34-14 victory over Elk City was no exception, as Sawatzky rushed for 284 yards and three touchdowns. His first two touchdowns runs were from 28 and 49 yards. His third covered all but 2 yards of the Weatherford field as he took home a 98-yard run to cap off the scoring for the Eagles.
Star Spencer Pounds Deer Creek: Darwin Rideau rushed for three touchdowns as Star Spencer routed Deer Creek, 46-13. Rideau opened his account with a 4-yard run to help give the Bobcats a 16-6 lead. In the third quarter, Rideau scored the first points of the half with an 86-yard rumble before tacking on another long run from 60 yards.

Tuttle slides down one spot after a 28-0 loss to top-ranked Clinton. Purcell enters this week replacing Victory Christian after a 27-24 overtime victory over Sulphur. Sulphur falls one spot to ten. Victory Christian slides out after a 17-0 loss to Seminole.
Playoff Battle
3A-1: Clinton, Kingfisher, and Tuttle have qualified. Elgin and Newcastle are battling for a fourth-seed. The winner of Clinton-Kingfisher will claim District title.
3A-2: Plainview and Purcell have clinched playoff bids. Marlow, Sulphur, and Madill are fighting for two spots.
3A-3: Vinita and Metro Christian have bids to the playoffs sewn up. Sequoyah-Claremore, Berryhill, Blackwell, and Dewey are playing for two spots. Sequoyah-Claremore, the defending 3A champion, is 4-2 within its District while the remaining three stand at 3-3.
3A-4: Victory Christian and Muldrow are in. Seminole, Roland, Bristow, and Checotah all stand at 3-3 and are fighting for two spots.
Red Tornadoes Tear Down Tigers: At the Tornado Bowl, Clinton used a pair of big plays and six interceptions on defense to turn away rival Tuttle, 28-0. One of the interceptions was returned by Chris Pearson in the third quarter for a touchdown. Pearson's pick was one of five inside the red zone for the Red Tornadoes. Pearson also added a 5-yard touchdown run in the second quarter. Torrance McBrayer hooked up with quarterback Ryan Stringer on a 41-yard touchdown pass to open the scoring. McBrayer finished with 147 receiving yards for Clinton.
Kingfisher Sets Up Clinton Battle: Kingfisher avoided the dreaded `trap game' after upsetting Tuttle by taking care of business with a 35-15 victory over Elgin. In the final regular season game, the Yellowjackets travel to the Tornado Bowl to take on top-ranked Clinton. Patrick Peck led Kingfisher with two rushing touchdowns. Brayden Hicks returned an interception 96 yards for a touchdown and Zack Sell hauled the opening kickoff of the second half back 72 yards to paydirt to lift the Yellowjackets.
Purcell Shocks Sulphur: Alfredo Luna's 2-yard touchdown run in overtime gave Purcell a 27-24 victory over Sulphur. The Dragons got off to a great start, leading 21-0 at halftime thanks to a touchdown run and pass from Seth Barrett. Whatever head coach Mike Wilson said to his Sulphur players must have worked because the Bulldogs were ready to play in the second half. Nathan Scaggs scored on a 4-yard run, Cameron Gregory returned a pick 54 yards for a score, and Robert Thomas added a 9-yard run to force the extra session. Bryce Lance kicked a 30-yard field goal in the first possession of overtime to give the Bulldogs the lead before Luna won it for Purcell.
