If Kingsley-Pierson were expecting to get some payback for the 8-48 defeat against Newell-Fonda the last time they met, then they were left disappointed. Kingsley-Pierson and Newell-Fonda were almost perfectly matched up on Friday, but Kingsley-Pierson suffered an agonizing 26-27 loss. Things were expected to be close, but in this case the national rankings mixed up the winning team.
The loss dropped Kingsley-Pierson back to even at 2-2. The victory bumped Newell-Fonda's record up to 4-0.
Kingsley-Pierson will look to defend their home turf next week against Clay Central-Everly at 7:00 PM. Both of those teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'. As for Newell-Fonda, they will face off against River Valley.
