This season hasn't been kind to the Tri-State Christian Huskies, who are still winless after their sixth contest. They were beaten by Quad Cities Christian 63-18 on Friday. Tri-State Christian was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 42-17.
Tri-State Christian lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Kennedy Duenser, who scored seven points. The team also got some help courtesy of Makayla Zelle, who scored six points along with seven rebounds and three blocks.
Quad Cities Christian had a senior duo take command as Piper Ochkie dropped a double-double on 11 points and 12 steals and Mikah Wolf dropped a double-double on ten points and 12 rebounds. Ochkie hasn't dropped below two steals for 11 straight games. Another player making a difference was Maddy Bollinger, who scored eight points along with three steals.
Tri-State Christian's loss was their third straight at home, which bumped their record down to 0-6. As for Quad Cities Christian, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 15-4.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Tri-State Christian's homestand continues as they prepare to take on Faith Christian at 5:00 p.m. on January 23rd. Quad Cities Christian will take on Non Varsity Opponent at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
