Wakulla has been on the road for seven straight, but on Friday they'll finally head home. They will take on the St. John Paul II Panthers at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Given that the pair suffered a loss in their last game, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this matchup.
Last Tuesday, Wakulla ended up a good deal behind Maclay and lost 33-19.
Meanwhile, things could have been worse for St. John Paul II, but they could have been a whole lot better as they took a 37-19 loss to North Florida Christian on Thursday. St. John Paul II has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Despite the defeat, St. John Paul II saw an underclassman step up: Aliyah Medrano scored four points along with six rebounds and three steals. The team also got some help courtesy of D?Nae Mosse, who scored two points along with three steals.
Wakulla has been struggling recently, as they've lost seven of their last eight games, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-9 record this season. As for St. John Paul II, they bumped their record down to 3-7 with that loss, which was their third straight on the road.
Wakulla beat St. John Paul II 28-21 in their previous matchup back in January of 2023. Will Wakulla repeat their success, or does St. John Paul II have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
