Basketball Game Preview: Walthill Blujays vs. Flandreau Indian Indians

The Walthill Blujays will take on the Flandreau Indian Indians at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Walthill is coming into the contest hot, having won their last four games.

Walthill is headed into the match after thoroughly thrashing Randolph: they outscored them in every quarter. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that Walthill blew Randolph out of the water with a 59-15 final score. The game marked the Blujays' most dominant win of the season.

Walthill got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Khirstin Wolfe out in front who went 6 for 10 on her way to 14 points and three steals. Wolfe is crushing it when it comes to steals: she's grabbed at least two every time she's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Abby Phillips, who went 5 of 6 on her way to 11 points and four steals.

Walthill was working as a unit and finished the game with 15 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Randolph only posted five assists.

Meanwhile, Flandreau Indian came up short against Crow Creek back in December of 2024 and fell 54-44. The Indians have struggled against the Chieftains recently, as the game was their eighth consecutive lost matchup.

Walthill pushed their record up to 6-4 with the win, which was their fifth straight on the road. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 58.6 points per game. As for Flandreau Indian, they now have a losing record at 1-2.

Everything came up roses for Walthill against Flandreau Indian in their previous meeting back in February of 2023, as the squad secured a 63-36 victory. Does Walthill have another victory up their sleeve, or will Flandreau Indian turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
