The Lincoln High Links's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Saturday after their fourth straight loss. They were beaten by Lincoln Southwest 77-40. While losing is never fun, Lincoln High can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Nebraska basketball rankings (they are ranked 224th, while Lincoln Southwest is ranked 109th).
Lincoln High's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Klayton Nguyen, who scored 12 points, and Brady Nick who scored 11 points. Those 12 points set a new season-high mark for him.
It was another big night for Braden Frager, who dropped a double-double on 22 points and ten rebounds for Lincoln Southwest. Frager set a new season high mark in blocks with two. Another player making a difference was Karter Chamberlain, who scored 12 points.
Lincoln High has fallen quite a ways from their 17-8 record last season and are now at 2-8. As for Lincoln Southwest, the victory got them back to even at 5-5.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Lincoln High will take on Lincoln Northeast at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Lincoln Southwest, they will be playing at home against Lincoln North Star at 7:45 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Lincoln North Star's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last four matchups.
