On Tuesday, Jan. 12th the MaxPreps travel team made its next stop to Upper St. Clair, Pennsylvania which is located just outside of Pittsburgh to honor the 2015 PIAA girls soccer state champion. In recognition of its incredible 2015 season, the
Upper St. Clair girls soccer team was named to the 11th Annual MaxPreps Tour of Champions presented by the Army National Guard, which is in its fifth year honoring soccer.
The Panthers finished their 2015 season with a 20-2-1 record and more notably, they earned the school's first girls soccer state championship. Back in November, the team beat Central Bucks East 2-1 in the PIAA Class AAA girls soccer state final game to clinch the title. At the end of the season, Upper St. Clair finished ranked No. 33 in the MaxPreps national rankings out of more than 9,000 teams.

More than 1000 attendees braved the snow, winds and sub-freezing temperatures to celebrate with the girls soccer team as they received the prestigious Army National Guard national ranking trophy during the boys basketball rivalry game against neighboring Mt. Lebanon High School.
During halftime, Sergeant First Class Regis Thornton of the Pennsylvania Army National Guard presented the Army National Guard Minuteman trophy to team captains Maddy Rocks and Elaina Walnoha along with head coach Dave Gray. SFC Thornton applauded the team's efforts and successes as he stated "without teamwork, respect, and motivation, you would not all be standing here this evening alongside your dedicated coaches."
Thank you Upper St. Clair High School for your hospitality, enthusiasm, and appreciation for this stop on the 2015-16 Tour of Champions.
Congratulations Coach Gray and his team on a great season and high national ranking!
