The West Memphis Blue Devils''s game last Friday was a tough loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Friday. Everything went their way against Searcy as West Memphis made off with a 42-20 win. The result was nothing new for West Memphis, who have now won six contests by 22 points or more so far this season.
Several Lions players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Tyler Strickland, who threw for 151 yards and two touchdowns.
West Memphis' win was their fourth straight on the road, which bumped their overall record up to 7-3. That said, the team wasn't facing the toughest opposition over that stretch, as it included 0-10 Sylvan Hills and 2-8 Greene County Tech (their opponents had an average overall winning percentage of 35% over those games). As for Searcy, their defeat ended a five-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 6-4.
West Memphis will take on Van Buren at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Searcy, they will head out on the road to face off against Greenbrier at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Arkansas (Greenbrier is ranked 27th, while Searcy is ranked 40th).
