Basketball Recap: Stratford Piles Up the Points Against Manawa

Stratford had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 10.5 points) and they went ahead and made it three on Friday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Manawa Wolves 72-34. Given the Tigers' advantage in MaxPreps' Wisconsin basketball rankings (they are ranked 60th, while the Wolves are ranked 394th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Stratford's victory bumped their record up to 7-1. As for Manawa, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-6.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Stratford and Owen-Withee will face off at 7:15 p.m. on Saturday without much rest having both just played. Owen-Withee knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past six matches -- so hopefully Stratford likes a good challenge. As for Manawa, they and Fall River will face off at 5:30 p.m. on Saturday without much rest having both just played. Manawa is facing Fall River at the right time seeing as Fall River is stuck on a five-game losing streak.
