Watertown will be up against a hot DeKalb County squad: the team just extended their winning streak to four. The Tigers' pitcher stepped up to hand Cumberland County a 19-0 shutout on Monday. The Tigers' pitching crew has been rock solid lately; the team hasn't given up a run in their last three contests.
Kora Kilgore made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she struck out nine batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit (and not a single walk). She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than nine strikeouts in nine consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with one double and one RBI.

In other batting news, Rylee Wilbur was a standout: she went a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, three runs, and four RBI. Those three runs gave her a new career-high. Bryna Pelham was another key player, going a perfect 2-for-2 with three runs, three RBI, and two doubles.
DeKalb County was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .773. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .304 or higher in nine consecutive matchups.
Meanwhile, Watertown got the win against Jackson County on Thursday by a conclusive 11-1. The victory continues a trend for the Purple Tigers in their matchups with the Blue Devils: they've now won seven in a row.

DeKalb County pushed their record up to 14-6 with the win, which was their fifth straight at home. The home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.2 runs on average over those games. As for Watertown, their win bumped their record up to 12-8.
