Hoover had a rough outing against Indianola last week, but a little bit of home cooking seems to have fixed things right up. On Friday, Hoover narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past Des Moines North 21-18. The success represented a nice turnaround for Hoover, who in their last game suffered a tough 13-44 loss.
The victory bumped Hoover's record up to 1-3. Des Moines North are still searching for that first win as they fell to 0-3.
Hoover will look to defend their home turf next week against Waterloo West at 7:00 PM. As for Des Moines North, they will face off against Des Moines Christian.
