The Faith Lutheran Crusaders will head out on the road to face off against the Foothill Falcons at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Faith Lutheran fell on hard times earlier this season, but after back-to-back victories it seems like their luck might finally be changing. They really took it to Las Vegas for the full four quarters, racking up a 44-6 victory at home. The game was all but wrapped up at the end of the third, by which point Faith Lutheran had established a 37 point advantage.
Garyt Odom was the offensive standout of the contest as he rushed for 103 yards and two touchdowns, and also threw for 29 yards and a touchdown. Cale Breslin was another key contributor, rushing for 91 yards on only 11 carries.
Faith Lutheran's defense stepped up as well, laying out the QB three times. Leading the way was Mitchell Bailes and his two sacks.
Meanwhile, Foothill blew past Durango, posting a 33-6 win at home.
Mason Dew continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, throwing for 274 yards and four touchdowns while completing 73.3% of his passes, and also punching in a touchdown on the ground. Dew hasn't dropped below three passing touchdowns for four straight games. Foothill also got help from Braxton Bonnett who showed off his sure hands for 128 receiving yards.
Faith Lutheran has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 7-3 record this season. As for Foothill, their victory was their seventh straight at home (dating back to last season), bumping their overall record up to 9-2.
Faith Lutheran came up short against Foothill when the teams last played back in October, falling 28-17. Can Faith Lutheran avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
