The Pantego Christian Panthers's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Saturday after their eighth straight loss. They took a hard 47-33 fall against Faith Academy.
Faith Academy found their leader in underclassman Natalie Weems, who scored 16 points along with eight rebounds and three blocks. Weems hasn't dropped below eight rebounds for three straight games. Another player making a difference was Lilly Koziel, who scored six points along with four steals.
Pantego Christian has been struggling recently, as they've lost ten of their last 11 contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-11 record this season. As for Faith Academy, their win ended a five-game drought on the road and puts them at 7-11.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Pantego Christian and Bethesda Christian will face off at 5:00 p.m. on January 2, 2024 without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Bethesda Christian comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 17 points in their last five games, a trend the squad is of course eager to reverse. Faith Academy and Holy Trinity Catholic will face off at 6:00 p.m. on January 5, 2024 without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Holy Trinity Catholic comes in still looking for their first win of the season.
