Another player making a difference was  Kea D'Elia, who  went 2-for-4 with three  stolen bases, two  runs,  and one  RBI.
Meanwhile, Chugiak faced Bettye Davis East Anchorage in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Friday. The Mustangs came out on top against the Thunderbirds by a score of  12-8. The game was the first time the Mustangs have beaten the Thunderbirds on their field since May 24, 2024.
 Chugiak got a  massive  performance out of  Aubree Sims, who  went 3-for-5 with two  stolen bases, three  RBI,  and two  doubles. The team also got some help courtesy of  Brooklyn McCormick, who  went 3-for-5 with three  RBI, two  runs,  and two  doubles.
 The  victory snapped Dimond's losing streak at three games  and leaves them with a 14-13 record. As for Chugiak, their record is now 22-6.
