Even though the McArthur Mustangs scored an imposing 56 points on Thursday, the Plantation Colonels still came out on top. Plantation took down McArthur 74-56. Given Plantation's advantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 156th, while McArthur is ranked 482nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Daterrius Heller was his usual excellent self, scoring 16 points along with eight rebounds and eight steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Jabari Washington, who scored 18 points.
Plantation is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matches, which provided a nice bump to their 12-6 record this season. As for McArthur, their loss dropped their record down to 7-11.
Plantation and Northwestern will face off at 6:00 p.m. on January 19th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Northwestern knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past three matchups -- so hopefully Plantation likes a good challenge. As for McArthur, they will head out on the road to square off against Taravella at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
