Franklin County Tech hasn't had much luck against Greenfield recently, but that could start to change on Thursday. The Eagles will head out on the road to square off against the Green Wave at 6:00 p.m. Franklin County Tech will be strutting in after a victory while Greenfield will be coming in after a loss.
Franklin County Tech is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. Everything went their way against Mohawk Trail Regional on Friday as they made off with a 14-2 win. Perhaps unsurprisingly given the team's high-flying offense, the game also marked the team's biggest victory of the season.
Brayleigh Burgh spent all five innings played on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned runs on three hits. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Franklin County Tech got a massive performance out of Samantha Duncan, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with three RBI, two runs, and one triple. Those three RBI gave Duncan a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Lindsey Taylor, who went 2-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and one stolen base.
Franklin County Tech always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .514. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Meanwhile, Greenfield lost 14-2 to Hampshire Regional on Tuesday. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat the Green Wave have suffered against the Raiders since May 9, 2022.
Greenfield now has a losing record of 5-6. As for Franklin County Tech, their win ended an eight-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 3-10.
Franklin County Tech couldn't quite finish off Greenfield in their previous matchup back in April and fell 7-5. Can the Eagles avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
