Softball Recap: Seneca East Has No Trouble Against Bucyrus

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Seneca East). They blew past the Bucyrus Redmen 16-5 on Wednesday. That's more bragging rights for the Tigers, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

The team relied heavily on Hanna Featheringill, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with one home run, three runs, and three doubles. Those hits marked the first that she got this season. Luella Burkholder was another key player, going 2-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and one triple.

Seneca East always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .529. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

The victory got Seneca East back to even at 2-2. As for Bucyrus, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-2.

Looking ahead, Seneca East will venture away from home to take on Clyde at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Fliers will roll in looking for their eighth straight win, something the Tigers surely won't give up without a fight. As for Bucyrus, they will face off against St. Mary Central Catholic at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
