The Burroughs Bears will head out to take on the Hart Hawks at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Burroughs has three straight wins, Hart has three straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
Hart's hitters are going to have their work cut out for them on Saturday: Burroughs hadn't allowed a single run the last three times they've hit the field. The Bears blew past Hoover 14-0 on Thursday.
Hailey Franco tossed a big game, keeping things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out 12 over five innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than one walk in four consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Burroughs let Haven Vickers and Kalani Miramontes run wild. Vickers went a perfect 1-for-1 with one home run, three runs, and three RBI, while Miramontes went 2-for-3 with three RBI, two runs, and one triple. Those three RBI gave Vickers a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Sophie Rangsiyawong, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs and one RBI.
Meanwhile, Hart lost 10-1 to Valencia on Tuesday.
Hart saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Hannah Cook, who went 1-for-3 with one run.
Burroughs' victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 14-4. The home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.5 runs over those games. As for Hart, their loss dropped their record down to 5-12.
Hart's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Burroughs has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .467. It's a different story for Hart, though, as they've only averaged .327.
