After a string of three wins, The Village School of Naples Knights's good fortune finally ran out on Thursday. They lost to Donahue Catholic on the road by a decisive 81-65 margin. The Village School of Naples was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Shamrocks apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in January.
Donahue Catholic got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Erling Berg out in front who dropped a double-double on 21 points and 13 rebounds. Berg is crushing the rebound category: he's posted at least eight every time he's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of John McCabe, who scored 20 points along with five rebounds.
The Village School of Naples' loss dropped their record down to 10-9. As for Donahue Catholic, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine games, which provided a nice bump to their 17-3 record this season.
The Village School of Naples will head out on the road to take on the Celtics at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Donahue Catholic, they will stay at home for another game and welcome the Stingrays at 7:00 p.m. on February 6th. Seacrest Country Day has now lost 19 straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since December 8.
