Chavez is 1-9 against Heights since February of 2016 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Wednesday. The Chavez Lobos will head out on the road to challenge the Heights Bulldogs at 6:00 p.m.
Chavez suffered their biggest loss yet this season on Friday. They took a serious blow against Bellaire, falling 86-34. While losing is never fun, Chavez can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 1089th, while Bellaire is ranked 77th).
Meanwhile, even though Westbury scored an imposing 64 points on Tuesday, Heights still came out on top. Heights took their contest against Westbury 71-64. The win made it back-to-back wins for Heights.
This is the second loss in a row for Chavez and nudges their season record down to 9-12. As for Heights, their win bumped their record up to 9-14.
Chavez came up short against Heights when the teams last played back in February of 2023, falling 55-46. Thankfully for Chavez, Gabriel Alvarez (who scored 21 points along with four steals and two blocks) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result?
