On Friday, the Grass Lake Warriors humbled the Columbia Central Golden Eagles with a 47-20 victory. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Warriors.
Grass Lake was led to victory by Luke Guthrie and Brayden Lape. Guthrie gained 175 total yards and three touchdowns, while Lape threw for 304 yards and four touchdowns while completing 83.3% of his passes. Guthrie got the majority of those rushing yards when he took off on a run and that went for an incredible 70 yards. 95 of those passing yards were hauled in by Bryant Cook.
Grass Lake's victory bumped their record up to 2-0. As for Columbia Central, their loss dropped their record down to 0-2.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Grass Lake is headed away from home for the first time to square off against Hanover-Horton at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Columbia Central, they will take on Napoleon at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
