The Mapleton Mounties will take on the Crestview Cougars at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Mapleton comes in still looking for their first win of the season.
Plymouth hit Mapleton with a four-run fifth inning on Tuesday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Mounties took a 9-5 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Big Red.

Gabe Wrobleski made the most of his time in the batter's box despite the final result and went 2-for-4 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one double. He is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games he's played. Another player making a difference was Lukus Jenkins, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with two runs and one RBI.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Crestview). They never let New London get on the board and left with a 10-0 win on Tuesday. The Cougars not only won on Tuesday, but they posted their biggest win since May 23, 2025 (when they won 10-0).
The result came thanks to Colton Ernandes's shutout, as he gave up just a hit and racked up six Ks. He also tossed a walk, which is notable because Crestview is undefeated when he allows at most one walk, but 3-4 otherwise.
On the hitting side, Crestview got a massive performance out of Landon Fulk, who went 3-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and one double. Those three RBI gave Fulk a new career-high. Carson Keener was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI.
Crestview always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .613. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their OBP total in three consecutive contests.
Mapleton's loss dropped their record down to 0-12. As for Crestview, their victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 6-4.
Mapleton couldn't quite get it done against Crestview when the teams last played back in April of 2025 as they fell 11-6. Can the Mounties avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
