Even though the Springfield Bulldogs have not done well against the St. Thomas Aquinas Falcons recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. Springfield strolled past St. Thomas Aquinas with points to spare, taking the game 53-36. The win was nothing new for Springfield as they're now sitting on five straight.
It was another big night for Emersyn Neal, who scored 27 points along with nine rebounds and six steals. She hasn't dropped below two steals for 15 straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Cameron Culbertson, who scored six points along with six assists and six rebounds.
Springfield has been performing well recently as they've won eight of their last ten matches, which provided a nice bump to their 12-7 record this season. As for St. Thomas Aquinas, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-12.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Springfield will take on St. Charles Catholic at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. St. Charles Catholic is hoping to put an end to a three-game streak of away losses. As for St. Thomas Aquinas, they will stay at home for another game and welcome Breaux Bridge at 6:00 p.m. on January 25th. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Louisiana (Breaux Bridge is ranked 166th, while St. Thomas Aquinas is ranked 144th).
