With a playoff game on the line, the Curtis Warriors rose to the challenge on Saturday. They secured a 30-24 W over the Knights. The win made it back-to-back wins for Curtis.
Among those leading the charge was Chauncey Mims, who picked up 92 receiving yards and a touchdown, and also punched in a touchdown on the ground. Another player making a difference was Quadare Gomez, who rushed for 70 yards and a touchdown.
Kennedy's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Derik Betances, who rushed for 101 yards and a touchdown. The team also got some help courtesy of Jakeem Griffith, who rushed for 110 yards on only 13 carries.
Curtis has yet to lose a contest at home this season, leaving them with a 6-5 record. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 36.0 points per game. As for Kennedy, their loss ended a six-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 7-4.
Curtis does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Kennedy also has no future games currently scheduled.
