The Limon Badgers waltzed into their game on Saturday with five straight wins but they left with six. They enjoyed a cozy 50-33 victory over Elbert. That's another feather in the cap for Limon, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.
It was another big night for Jordan Rockwell, who scored 17 points along with five rebounds and five steals. Another player making a difference was Treyton Marx, who scored nine points along with 12 rebounds.
Several Bulldogs players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Logan LaFollette, who scored 15 points along with eight rebounds. Caleb Cornell was another key contributor, scoring nine points.
Limon pushed their record up to 7-2 with that victory, which was their fifth straight on the road. As for Elbert, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-3.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Limon and Evangel Christian Academy will face off at 7:30 p.m. on January 18th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Evangel Christian Academy will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Colorado Rankings (they are ranked 246th, while Limon is ranked 93rd). As for Elbert, they will be playing at home against Deer Trail at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Deer Trail has now lost seven straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since December 2.
