After both having extra time off, the Marshfield Tigers and the Superior Spartans will shake off the cobwebs and hit the court against one another at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Both come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
On Thursday, Marshfield was able to grind out a solid win over Wausau West, taking the game 3-1.
Marshfield got the W, but it wasn't easy, at least in the second set. The final score came out to 25-20, 30-32, 25-20, 25-18.

Marshfield relied on the efforts of Natalie Delany, who had 28 assists and nine digs, and Paige Schlagenhaft, who had 15 digs and two aces. With that strong performance, Schlagenhaft is now averaging an impressive 12.2 assists per game.
Superior won the last time they faced Varsity Opponent and Brekyn Warburton did her part to make sure it happened again. The Spartans walked away with a 3-1 victory over Varsity Opponent on Tuesday thanks in part to Warburton, who had 22 digs and two assists. Schlagenhaft is also on a roll when it comes to assists, as she's now posted 14 or more in each of the last five games she's played.
Superior had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next three. The match finished with set scores of 14-25, 25-18, 25-11, 25-11.
Superior's win bumped their record up to 12-18. As for Marshfield, their victory bumped their record up to 25-14.
Marshfield came out on top in a nail-biter against Superior in their previous meeting back in August, sneaking past 2-1. Do the Tigers have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Spartans turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
