After flying high against Yeshiva of Virginia last Monday, the Grove Christian School Falcons came back down to earth. Grove Christian School suffered a rough 80-55 defeat at the hands of Stuart Hall on Friday. While losing is never fun, Grove Christian School can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Virginia basketball rankings (they are ranked 357th, while Stuart Hall is ranked 137th).
Grove Christian School's loss came despite strong showings from Jacob Garrison and Owen Collawn. Garrison scored 21 points along with seven assists and seven rebounds, while Collawn dropped a double-double on 17 points and 12 rebounds. Garrison hasn't dropped below two steals for five straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Braxton Kidd, who scored six points along with three steals.
Grove Christian School's defeat dropped their record down to 4-7. As for Stuart Hall, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matches, which provided a nice bump to their 7-2 record this season.
Grove Christian School will be playing at home against The New Community School at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The New Community School is coming into the contest on a six-game losing streak. As for Stuart Hall, they will head out on the road to face off against The Covenant at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday.
