The Brook Hill Guard have been a dominant force so far, but they're in the middle of a mini-slump at the moment. They received a tough blow on Saturday as they fell 47-33 to Dallas Christian. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Brook Hill has scored all season.
Despite the loss, Brook Hill still got an impressive performance from Brenna Hill, who scored 18 points along with three steals. That was a full 54.5% of Brook Hill's points, marking the third time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points.
Brook Hill struggled to work together and finished the game with only four assists. That's the fewest assists they've managed all season.
Dallas Christian's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jackie Schlegel, who dropped a double-double on 16 points and ten rebounds. Schlegel hasn't dropped below two steals for six straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Macie Perkins, who scored nine points along with 14 rebounds and two steals.
Brook Hill's loss dropped their record down to 17-8. As for Dallas Christian, the victory was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 7-6.
Brook Hill will head out on the road to face off against Covenant at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Covenant comes in still looking for their first win of the season. As for Dallas Christian, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Vanguard College Prep at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Vanguard College Prep is looking to tack on another W to their three-game streak on the road.
