Softball Recap: Barrington Takes Down Ranked Lincoln

Barrington faced Lincoln in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Thursday. The Eagles put the hurt on the Lions with a sharp 12-2 win. Considering the Eagles have won five games by more than nine runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

Barrington got a massive performance out of Aislinn McCoy (2025), who went a perfect 4-for-4 with three runs, one triple, and two RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Ruby Ciummo (2025), who went 1-for-2 with one home run and three RBI.

Barrington always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .571. They are a perfect 4-0 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.

Barrington pushed their record up to 5-2 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. Those home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 13.3 runs over those games. As for Lincoln, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-4.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Barrington will take on rival Scituate at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Meanwhile, Lincoln is set to square off against their familiar foe South Kingstown at 5:00 p.m. on Monday.
