Basketball Recap: Chisholm Trail Academy Takes Loss Despite Strong Performances from Jadon Henderson and Max Castro

Chisholm Trail Academy lost against Pantego Christian back in December of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Chisholm Trail Academy Blazers took a 66-56 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Pantego Christian Panthers. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as the Blazers came into the contest with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 361st, while the Panthers are ranked 905th).

Despite the defeat, Chisholm Trail Academy had strong showings from Max Castro, who went 8 for 19 on his way to 23 points in addition to six steals and five boards, and Jadon Henderson, who went 9 of 20 on his way to 22 points along with five rebounds and three steals. The match was Castro's third in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Lukas Vohwinkle, who posted four points.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Pantego Christian to victory, but perhaps none more so than Tristan Brown, who dropped a double-double on 18 points and ten boards. Brown is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last six games he's played. Stone Thiel was another key player, going 6 of 11 on his way to 16 points along with five rebounds and five steals.

This is the second loss in a row for Chisholm Trail Academy and nudges their season record down to 6-6. As for Pantego Christian, their record now sits at 6-8.

Chisholm Trail Academy will challenge Heritage Christian Athletics at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Heritage Christian Athletics will roll in looking for their fifth straight win, something Chisholm Trail Academy surely won't give up without a fight. As for Pantego Christian, they will square off against Poetry Community Christian at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday.
