He decided on the Seminoles over offers from a host of other schools, including Ohio State, Notre Dame and Florida.
The 5-foot-9, 180-pound Joyner has made an impact on both sides of the ball for Aquinas since transferring from Miami Southwest in the offseason.
He will likely play cornerback for Jimbo Fisher and the Seminoles.
Recruiting in the post-Bobby Bowden era has gone well for Florida State. Joyner’s commitment comes on the heels of the Seminoles landing Treasure Coast (Port St. Lucie, Fla.) standout Jeff Luc, one of the country’s top linebackers. Both players are ranked in the Top 100 for the class of 2010, according to CBS College Sports recruiting analyst Tom Lemming.
Joyner will lead Aquinas into a 5A semifinal matchup Friday night against Manatee (Bradenton, Fla.).
The Raiders are currently ranked No. 1 in the Xcellent 25 Rankings presented by the Army National Guard.
