Lower Merion hasn't had much luck against Haverford recently, but that could start to change on Monday. Lower Merion will challenge Haverford at 3:45 p.m. Lower Merion is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.2 runs per game this season.

Lower Merion is headed into Monday's match looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their third straight game on Thursday. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 4-3 heartbreaker at the hands of Lower Moreland.

Lower Merion saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Sophia Gilligan, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-3.

Meanwhile, Haverford fought the good fight in their extra-innings contest against Garnet Valley on Wednesday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Jaguars by a score of 6-5. The Fords have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Lucy Ardizzi led a balanced group of hitters, going 3-for-4 with three stolen bases and one RBI. Maya Hubley also deserves some recognition as she hit her first triple of the season.

Even though they lost, Haverford hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now struck out at most five strikeouts every time they've taken the field this season.

Lower Merion's record now sits at 2-4. As for Haverford, their record now sits at 2-2.

Lower Merion suffered a grim 31-3 defeat to Haverford when the teams last played back in May of 2023. Can Lower Merion avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
