The School of the Woods Wildcats entered their tilt with Varsity Opponent with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. It was close, but School of the Woods ultimately received the gift of a 28-25 victory from a begrudging Wildcatssquad. That's another feather in the cap for they, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.
School of the Woods found their leader in underclassman Leah Salvatierra, who scored ten points. Those ten points set a new season-high mark for her. Another player making a difference was Savannah Phan, who scored six points along with three steals.
School of the Woods' victory ended a four-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 4-2. As for Varsity Opponent, they are on a 14-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 53-203-3.
School of the Woods will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Humble Christian at 5:00 p.m. on January 13, 2024. Varsity Opponent will be home for the holidays to greet Mount Pisgah Christian Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Hopefully Mount Pisgah Christian Academy focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up ten last Tuesday.
