Pinelands Regional has enjoyed a two-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They will take on The Hopewell Valley Central Bulldogs at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Given that both teams suffered a loss in their last game, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this game.
Last Thursday, it was a hard-fought matchup, but Pinelands Regional had to settle for a 20-17 loss against Monmouth Regional.
Meanwhile, Hopewell Valley Central unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Friday. They were just a hair shy of victory and fell 35-34 to Notre Dame. This was one game where the offenses had no trouble playing at a high level.
Hopewell Valley Central's loss came about despite a quality game from Ben DeCore, who rushed for 210 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 7.2 yards per carry.
Pinelands Regional has been struggling recently, as they've lost three of their last four matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-3 record this season. As for Hopewell Valley Central, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-2.
