Even though the Loudon Redskins have not done well against the Greenback Cherokees recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. Loudon took down Greenback 61-42. The win made it back-to-back wins for Loudon.
Despite the loss, Greenback saw an underclassman step up: Elizabeth Davis scored 19 points. Davis continues to roll, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played. Another player making a difference was Emory McDonell, who scored 7 points.
Loudon now has a winning record of 2-1. As for Greenback, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-6.
Loudon will be playing in front of their home fans against Sweetwater at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Sweetwater focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 17 on Tuesday. As for Greenback, they will head out on the road to face off against Oliver Springs at 6:30 p.m. on Monday.
