Baseball Recap: Snook Christian Academy Drops Season-High Score on Atmore Christian

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Snook Christian Academy). Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Atmore Christian Rams a 19-0 shutout on Thursday. Perhaps unsurprisingly given the team's high-flying offense, the game also marked the team's biggest victory of the season.

Ethan Parker was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He struck out seven batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits (and only one walk). The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in strikeouts. He was also big at the plate, scoring three runs and stealing a base while getting on base in all three of his plate appearances. He is becoming a predictor of Snook Christian Academy's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is 2-1 (and 3-4 when he doesn't).

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Landon Rubel, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, five RBI, and two runs. He is also on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last four games he's played. Aaron Ashley was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base while getting on base in all three of his plate appearances.

Snook Christian Academy always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .517. They are 3-1 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.

The win got Snook Christian Academy back to even at 5-5. As for Atmore Christian, they dropped their record down to 0-6 with the loss, which was their tenth straight on the road dating back to last season.
