Make it 11 blowout wins for the Northeastern Knights this season. Everything went their way against Blue River Valley on Saturday as Northeastern made off with a 61-39 win. 61 seems to be a good number for Northeastern as the squad scooped up a victory with the same number of points in their previous game.
Northeastern was led to victory by Ava Mikesell and Adysson Kircher. Mikesell scored nine points along with eight assists and six steals, while Kircher scored 23 points along with two steals. That's the first time this season that Mikesell posted eight or more assists. Cami Angi was another key contributor, scoring 12 points.
Despite the loss, Blue River Valley still got an impressive performance from Maciah Driskill, who scored 14 points along with nine rebounds and three steals. Driskill is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as she's now pulled down eight or more in the last five games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Charlee Gibson, who scored nine points along with five rebounds and four steals.
Northeastern pushed their record up to 15-6 with that victory, which was their eighth straight on the road. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 66.0 points per game. As for Blue River Valley, their loss dropped their record down to 11-9.
Northeastern will head out on the road to take on Winchester Community at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Winchester Community is coming into the matchup hot, having won their last three games. As for Blue River Valley, they will be playing at home against Monroe Central at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
