After a string of four wins, the Anthony Wildcats's good fortune finally ran out on Friday. They fell 63-56 to Riverside. Anthony was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Riverside apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in December of 2023.
Riverside can attribute much of their success to Richard Arellano, who scored 23 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Arellano has scored all season. Marcus Jauregui was another key contributor, scoring 11 points.
Anthony's loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 14-8. As for Riverside, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 8-15.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Anthony will square off against McCamey at 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday. McCamey will be looking to keep their four-game home win streak alive. As for Riverside, they will head out on the road to square off against Fabens at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Fabens has now lost seven straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since December 14.
