Meanwhile, Elizabeth Forward made easy work of Uniontown on Monday and carried off a 15-3 victory. The Warriors haven't had any issues with the Red Raiders recently, as the game was their ninth consecutive win against them.
Julia Johnson made a splash no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, pitching six innings while giving up three earned runs off five hits. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts any time she's pitched this season. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-4 with two RBI.
In other batting news, Berlyn Holibaugh was a standout: she went 4-for-5 with three stolen bases, three runs, and four RBI. Those four RBI gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Alivia Grimm, who went 2-for-5 with one home run and four RBI.
Elizabeth Forward was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .410. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Uniontown only posted a batting average of .259.
Elizabeth Forward pushed their record up to 3-1 with the victory, which was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season. The team dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 10.6 runs. As for Ringgold, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-5.
Ringgold suffered a grim 10-0 defeat to Elizabeth Forward in their previous meeting back in May of 2024. Can the Rams avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
