Carmel hasn't had much luck against Pendleton Heights recently, but that could start to change on Wednesday. The Greyhounds will venture away from home to challenge the Arabians at 6:00 p.m. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, these teams will really light up the scoreboard.
As a matter of fact, Carmel put up the most runs they have all season on Tuesday. They blew past North Central 13-3. The Greyhounds not only won on Tuesday, but they posted their biggest win since April 26, 2024 (when they won 14-0).

Emily Smith made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run over 4.1 innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one stolen base and one run. Those two hits gave her a new career-high.
In other batting news, Megan Pike was a standout: she fired off two home runs while going 2-for-4. Those two hits gave her a new career-high. Mia Fleming was another key player, going 3-for-4 with three RBI, two doubles, and one stolen base.
Carmel kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 15 hits. That's a new trend for them: they were averaging 5 hits per game earlier this season, but in their last 15 games they've averaged 9.4.
Meanwhile, the third road match was the charm for Pendleton Heights, as they earned their first away win of the season. Everything went their way against Delta on Tuesday as they made off with a 10-4 victory. The result was nothing new for the Arabians, who have now won five contests by six runs or more so far this season.
Pendleton Heights has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a nice bump to their 6-5 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.8 runs over those games. As for Carmel, their record now sits at 2-10.
Carmel might still be hurting after the 15-1 loss they got from Pendleton Heights in their previous meeting back in April of 2024. Can the Greyhounds avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
