The Lakewood Presbyterian Knights's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their seventh straight defeat. They took a 45-35 hit to the loss column at the hands of Trinity Christian Academy. The result was an unpleasant reminder to Lakewood Presbyterian of the 48-29 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture two weeks ago.
Lakewood Presbyterian's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Zoeh Kinson, who dropped a double-double on ten points and ten rebounds. Kinson is crushing the steal category: she's posted at least two every time she's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Alice Escobar, who scored eight points.
Lakewood Presbyterian dropped their record down to 2-12 with that defeat, which was their fourth straight at home. Those losses could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 24.5 points per game. As for Trinity Christian Academy, the victory makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 11-1.
Lakewood Presbyterian does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Trinity Christian Academy's road trip will continue as they head out to face Faustina Academy at 5:00 p.m. on February 8th. Faustina Academy will roll in looking for their sixth straight win, something Trinity Christian Academy surely won't give up without a fight.
