Baseball Recap: Crown Point Has No Trouble Against Mccutcheon

Crown Point made up a huge gap compared to their last game against McCutcheon, but they still couldn't quite topple them. The Bulldogs were the clear victors by a 10-0 margin over the Mavericks on Friday. The Bulldogs might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won four contests by ten runs or more this season.

Crown Point got a great performance from Riley Ackerman as he didn't allow a single earned run while striking out seven over five innings pitched.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Noah Ehrlich, who scored two runs and stole two bases while going 2-for-3. That's the most stolen bases he has posted since back in May of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Jase Horton, who went 3-for-4 with three RBI and one double.

Crown Point was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .387. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .387 or higher in four consecutive matchups.

Crown Point's record is now 5-1. As for McCutcheon, their loss dropped their record down to 0-2.

Crown Point didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 12-2 victory against Lafayette Jefferson on the 12th. As for McCutcheon, they have also already played their next contest, a 16-4 win against Huntington North on the 12th.
