D'Iberville lost to Biloxi on the road by a decisive 38-23 margin on Friday. D'Iberville has not had much luck with Biloxi recently, as the team's come up short the last five times they've met.
Biloxi found their leader in underclassman Zaniya Johnson, who dropped a double-double on 10 points and 12 rebounds. That makes it five consecutive games in which Johnson has scored at least 25% of Biloxi's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Amari Merideth, who scored 9 points.
D'Iberville's loss dropped their record down to 6-6. As for Biloxi, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 11-1.
D'Iberville will look to defend their home court on Saturday against Gautier at 2:00 p.m. Gautier will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Mississippi Rankings (they are ranked 255th, while D'Iberville is ranked 83rd). As for Biloxi, they will head out on the road to face off against Harrison Central at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both teams have allowed few points on average, (Harrison Central: 30, Biloxi: 22.2) so any points scored will be well earned.
