The Saratoga Central Catholic Saints will take on the Chatham Panthers at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
On Monday, Saratoga Central Catholic made easy work of Tamarac and carried off a 13-3 victory. The win continues a trend for the Saints in their matchups with the Bengals: they've now won six in a row.

Ryan Gillis
| 05/12/25 @ Tamarac | 5 |
| 04/22/24 vs Glens Falls | 4 |
| 04/30/25 vs Waterford-Halfmoon | 3 |
| 04/27/25 @ Hoosic Valley | 3 |
| 04/16/25 vs Canajoharie | 3 |
The team relied heavily on Ryan Gillis, who fired off two home runs, five RBI, and three runs while going 2-for-3. Those five RBI gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Kihl Kelly, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs and two doubles.
They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Saratoga Central Catholic kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in 11 consecutive matches.
Meanwhile, Chatham waltzed into their contest on Monday with four straight wins... but they left with five. They put the hurt on the Cannoneers with a sharp 11-5 victory.
Cooper Steltz was a major factor no matter where he played. He struck out 11 batters over six innings while giving up just two earned (and three unearned) runs off six hits. Steltz was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with two runs and one RBI.
In other batting news, Jacob Carroll was excellent, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run. Thomas Pierro was another key player, going 1-for-3 with two runs and one stolen base.
Saratoga Central Catholic's win was their seventh straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 17-1. Those road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 13.9 runs over those games. As for Chatham, their win bumped their record up to 14-4.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Wednesday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Saratoga Central Catholic has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 10.7 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Chatham struggles in that department as they've been averaging 9 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
Saratoga Central Catholic beat Chatham 11-8 when the teams last played back in May of 2024. Will the Saints repeat their success, or do the Panthers have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
