Macomb and Illini West are an even 5-5 against one another since May of 2016, but likely not for long. The Bombers will host the Chargers at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. The timing is sure in Macomb's favor as the team sits on four straight wins at home while Illini West has been banged up by four consecutive losses on the road.
On Tuesday, Macomb earned a 10-5 victory over Monmouth-Roseville. The win continues a trend for the Bombers in their matchups with the Titans: they've now won five in a row.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Emmett Beck, who went 3-for-5 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. That's the most hits he has posted since back in April. Another player making a difference was Drew Watson, who got on base in four of his five plate appearances with four runs, one stolen base, and one double.
Macomb was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .382. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .345 or higher in three consecutive matchups.
Meanwhile, while Illini West put up some runs on Tuesday, the same can't be said for Mendon Unity. The Chargers came out on top against the Mustangs by a score of 3-0.
Nick Bruns was excellent, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one run and one double. The team also got some help courtesy of Carter Chapin, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base and one run.
Illini West has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 17-7 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.5 runs on average over those games. As for Macomb, their win bumped their record up to 9-13.
Macomb couldn't quite get it done against Illini West when the teams last played back in May of 2024 as they fell 5-0. Will the Bombers have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check MaxPreps after the action for a full breakdown of the game and more baseball content.
