Volleyball Recap: University Starts Season with Victory at Home + How To Watch

University gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Thursday. They were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over the Elizabeth Cardinals. That's more bragging rights for the Bulldogs, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

University's got stronger as the match went on, holding Elizabeth to fewer and fewer points set over set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-17, 25-11, 25-8.

University's offense was headlined by Jordan Halley and Delaney Lauer, who picked up six kills apiece. They got some help from Kenley Rudiger and her 17 assists. Lauer was also solid from the service line: she led the team with three aces.

University is taking a road trip to face off against Riverdale Ridge at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Elizabeth, they will look to take advantage of their home court for the first time this season as they take on Canon City at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
