Miller extended the longest winning streak in Spring River Valley this week by beating Greenfield, 26-0. The victory was the eighth in a row for the team.
The Wildcats' offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Brodie Bien threw for 70 yards and Evan Moreland had 34 yards receiving. On the ground Zach Renfro chipped in 86 yards. Renfro helped Diamond's passing attack out by catching one ball for 20 yards.
Miller's Dalton Gulick and Derrick Estell have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading the league in both passing and receiving yards. Gulick has thrown for 1253 yards this season, while Estell, a 5-foot-11 receiver, has 19 catches for 348 yards. Cedric O'Hara from Pierce City leads the league in rushing with 1293 yards.
The top two teams in the league will face off this week when first place Miller takes on second place Sarcoxie. Last week, Dustin Baldwin 's team topped the Wildcats, while Sarcoxie fell to El Dorado Springs.
Renfro of the Diamond is only 26 yards short of surpassing 1,000 rushing yards for the season. In 176 carries Renfro has accumulated 974 yard this year.
There should be lots of points scored when the Bears and the Cardinals face off this week. The top two offenses in the league, Sarcoxie comes in having scored 287 this season, while Miller has scored 309. Luke Rader's team scored 20 points last week as it fell to the Bulldogs.
Jimmy Dushane's team was the team that gained the most ground in the standings this week, jumping from seventh to fifth in Spring River Valley. The Wildcats vanquished the Wildcats 42-14 earlier in the week.
