The Lighthouse HomeSchool Warriors and the Evangel Christian Lightning squared off in some playoff action on Friday, but sadly the Lighthouse HomeSchool Warriors had to settle for second. Lighthouse HomeSchool was outmatched by Evangel Christian on the road and fell 41-14. Lighthouse HomeSchool's defeat signaled the end of their four-game winning streak.
When it comes to explaining why Lighthouse HomeSchool lost, one person who can't be blamed is Clay Boatman. Despite the final result, he rushed for 90 yards and two touchdowns.
Evangel Christian was led to victory by Caeleb Austin and Kemp Swords. Austin gained 95 total yards and three touchdowns, while Swords rushed for 117 yards and a touchdown on only 13 carries.
Lighthouse HomeSchool's loss dropped their record down to 10-2. As for Evangel Christian, they have yet to lose a game at home this season, leaving them with a 12-0 record.
Lighthouse HomeSchool does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Evangel Christian will square off against Tri-State Crusaders at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday. Tri-State Crusaders is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
